the FIRST CNCSHC Hike

The Central North Carolina Siberian Husky Club held its first official hike on March 18, 2007 at the William B. Umstead State Park in Raleigh. Attending were members with dogs wearing packs (as part of the legs toward their Working Pack Dog requirement) as well as members and guests who enjoyed walking dogs without packs. The hike was successful, with everyone completing the 5.8 mile trail (6 miles, taking in consideration the elevation change) with no real problems and with no injuries or mishaps. Since this was our first hike, however, it WAS a learning process!
